Felling & sectional dismantling.

Where a tree is dead, dying, dangerous, or simply in the wrong place, we'll bring it down carefully and leave the site clean.

Tree removal, section by section.

Felling, or full tree removal, is straightforward when there's clear space. When there isn't (and in most suburban gardens there isn't) we climb, rig and lower section by section. Every piece comes down in a controlled way, on a line, to a spot we've agreed with you. Nothing dropped, nothing guessed.

Before we touch anything we carry out a full rigging assessment and talk you through the timber and chippings options. Most clients keep the firewood cut to length; we take everything else. If you're not sure whether the tree is protected by a TPO or sits in a conservation area, we'll check before we start.

Questions we get asked

How much does it cost to have a tree felled?
Every tree is different, so we won't quote blind over the phone. The cost of tree felling and removal depends mostly on the size of the tree, the access, and how the timber and arisings are dealt with. We come out for a free site visit, assess the access and rigging, then give you a written, fixed quote: what we quote is what you pay, with full site clearance included.
Do I need permission to remove a tree?
You might. If the tree has a Tree Preservation Order or sits in a conservation area, you'll need council consent first. We check this for you before any work starts and can handle the application on your behalf.
How do you remove a large tree in a small garden?
Section by section. Where there isn't the room to fell a tree whole (which is most suburban gardens) we climb it and rig the limbs and trunk down piece by piece to an agreed spot, so nothing is dropped onto a fence, shed or your neighbour's garden. It's slower and more skilled than a straight fell, but it's how tree removal is done safely on a tight site.
Do you take the stump out as well?
Felling a tree leaves the stump in the ground, so if you want it gone we follow up with stump grinding, usually on the same visit where access allows. We grind well below ground level so you can turf, pave or plant over the top. Tell us at the site visit and we'll price it in.
